AGT Fantasy tournament jury
The jury of AGT: Fantasy League brings together familiar faces and the returning Spice Girl. Simon Cowell, who is known for his candid and critical feedback, will once again share his expertise, alongside the always enthusiastic and entertaining duo of Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel. These seasoned judges, who just wrapped up Season 18 of AGT in September, returned to evaluate the extraordinary talent on display in the spinoff.
Adding some spice to the panel is the return of former Spice Girl Mel B. Fans will recall her previous role as a judge on Season 1 of AGT: The Champions in 2019. Mel B brings his unique perspective and vibrant energy to the show. Fantasy League, contributes to the dynamic of diverse reviews. Terry Crews, who took over the hosting role from Tyra Banks in 2019, is also returning, ready to guide the contestants through the exhilarating journey of AGT: Fantasy League.
Although Sofia Vergara is noticeably absent from Fantasy League’s judging lineup, it is not uncommon for a regular season AGT judge to sit out an extra match. Such rotation has happened in the past, with judges temporarily stepping aside for different iterations of the show. Unless otherwise announced, fans can expect Vergara to return as a judge for Season 19 of AGT in 2024.
AGT Fantasy League Week 1 Recap
In the first episode of America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League, the competition kicked off with a unique twist, pitting the judges against each other as they came up with 10 acts for their teams. The panel includes Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Mel B, each with a vested interest in the success of their chosen performers. Mel B, holder of the season’s first Golden Buzzer, has the power to push one of her acts straight into the finals or steal a popular act from her fellow judges. The result was the show’s first steal, as Mel B snatched roller skating duo Billy and Emily England from Simon Cowell’s team.
The 10 acts appearing in the premiere include pole dancer Kristy Sellars, magician Jon Dorenbos, Charismatic Hans, roller skating siblings Billy and Emily England, singer Kodi Lee, sand artist Kseniya Simonova, singer opera artist Maria Seiren, shadow puppeteer Shadow Ace, mysterious tape. Face and dynamic dance group V. Unbeatable.
Five acts won, winning enough “audience” votes to advance to the semi-finals. These acts include roller skating duo Billy & Emily England (Team Mel B, stolen from Simon), two-time AGT winner Kodi Lee (Team Simon), pole dancer Kristy Sellars (Team Howie) , sand artist Kseniya Simonova (Team Howie), and shadow puppeteer Shadow Ace (Team Howie).
Unfortunately, not everyone made it and Week 1 saw the eliminations of Tape Face, Japanese opera singer Maria Seiren, entertainer Hans and magician Jon Dorenbos. The competition is heating up and Fantasy League promises more thrilling performances and unexpected twists as the season progresses.
