De Grandhomme, born in Harare and attended St. George, started his career with Manicaland in Zimbabwe, and was a member of the Zimbabwe team at the 2004 World Under-19 Cricket Championship in Bangladesh. He played for Warwickshire County Cricket Club in England in 2017 after playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2017 Indian Premier League.
