David Lindley, a renowned guitarist and creator of the group El Rayo-X, died on March 3 at the age of 78. He died of illness and a campaign was started in early 2023 to help with your medical expenses. Singer and lyricist Warren Haynes paid tribute to Lindley by posting a photo of her performing an instrument on Facebook. Lindley is a genuine artist with a unique sound on the instrument he chooses to perform, he said. Lindley, according to Haynes, had a great influence on him. Haynes stated:
“I always put David on a small list of important inspirations when playing my slides – especially in terms of rhythm. Lindley’s impact often comes to mind when I’m dealing with a tune or performance in key. His singing technique is vocalesque and his sense of rhythm is profound.
According to Haynes, Lindley’s collaborations with Jackson Browne became popular in the 1970s, and the passages were so popular that even non-musicians could “sound along”. Leland Sklar, a bassist, also shared her sadness on Facebook, writing:
“We have lost one of the most truly special and special musicians and companions in history! David Lindley is the only one like him. Always in my heart, the earth and rhythm. My thoughts now are with you and your lovely family. I will mourn you, my brothers and sisters.

Guitarist David Lindley has passed away but I haven’t seen anyone share this incredible performance with Jackson Brown since 1978 when he performed “Running on Empty”. Great. pic.twitter.com/YCFfOKy3Ei
