Najam Zafaryab, son of secretary of All India Islamic Personal Law Commission, verified the news with PTI. According to Najam, his father died at 11:50 am after a long illness. The grieving son also revealed that the famous lawyer’s final rite will be conducted on Wednesday night at Aishbagh cemetery in Lucknow.

Jilani has been a topic of discussion for the past three decades. He is not involved in politics. Zafaryab Jilani is best known for his steadfast support of the Muslim side in the Ayodhya dispute. By decision of the Supreme Court, the late lawyer was appointed chairman of the Babri Masjid Action Committee.

Zafaryab Jilani died of a brain hemorrhage?
Najam Zafaryab, son of Zafaryab Jilani, said that his father passed away after a long illness. Zafaryab Jilani, secretary of the All India Islamic Personal Law Commission, suffered a brain hemorrhage in May 2021 and was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow. The senior lawyer’s family revealed that he was rushed to the hospital after slipping and falling. Part of his time was spent in the hospital.
“His treatment has begun and doctors say his condition is now stable,” he added. They have indicated that he may need surgery, but he is currently stable,” the lawyer’s grandson told the Indian Express.
Although the lawyer’s cause of death was not a brain hemorrhage, his health appears to have deteriorated after suffering a brain hemorrhage in 2021.
