Alonso confirmed his divorce from girlfriend Andrea Schlager earlier this year, following his podium result at the Australian Grand Prix. Alonso met Schlager, a sports broadcaster with a background in F1, through their F1 contacts. Alonso revealed the divorce on his Instagram account, implying that everything was amicable. The F1 driver has also maintained all his Instagram posts with Andrea. Alonso is said to be meeting another Spanish academic, Melissa Jiminez, two months after he split from Schlager. Although they have not made their relationship public, the media believes that they are.
