Ghostrunner 2 How to Block and Parry?

In Ghostrunner 2, you need to be careful because it’s a tough game. If you get hit once, you’re done. So, it’s really important to know how to defend yourself. The main character, Jack, uses a sword to fight.

Blocking is a really good way to protect yourself. Here’s how you do it:

  • On a computer, you use the Right Mouse Button to hold up your sword for defence.
  • If you’re using a controller, like on Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5, you press the LB or L1 button.

Blocking seems easy, but it’s a bit tricky. Jack can block most attacks, but it uses up his energy, which you can see as a blue bar on the screen. You’ve got to be careful not to use up all his energy.

If he runs out of energy, he can’t do quick moves like dashing. So, you have to balance between dodging and blocking. Also, there’s something called parrying.

If you press the block button right when an enemy attack is about to hit, Jack can stop the attack without using up his energy. It’s called a “Perfect Parry.” It takes practice, especially in harder levels with more enemies.

If you use in-game upgrades, you can get even better at parrying. You can deflect projectiles and even recharge the energy you need for special moves. All these things make the game feel really satisfying, especially when you’re cutting through enemies easily.

But, it’s a good idea to learn how to block and parry. If you get really good at perfect parrying, you’ll have an easier time dealing with both regular enemies and the tough bosses in Ghost Runner 2.

Block/Parry Upgrades in Ghostrunner 2

In Ghostrunner 2, there are some upgrades that can really help with blocking and parrying.

  • Blade Coating: This upgrade lets you block attacks from enemies like the Scorchman and Chook who shoot laser beams from a distance. But be careful, because blocking the laser slash can push you back pretty hard. It takes some practice to get it right.
  • Smooth Moves: This one makes it much easier to deflect projectiles and do perfect parries. It’s a great choice and doesn’t cost much to install, only 3 points. Every Ghostrunner should have this.
  • Smart Deflect: With this upgrade, when you deflect projectiles, they go back to where they came from. That means you can use enemy projectiles to attack and take out other enemies.

These upgrades make your blocking and parrying skills even better and can be a big help in the game.

Ghostrunner 2 Gameplay

In Ghostrunner 2, you control a character named Jack. You see the game from his point of view, like you’re inside his head. Jack is really quick and can do lots of cool moves. He can dash, jump, run on walls, slide, and even swing around using a grappling hook. He has a special move called “Sensory Boost” that slows down time for a short while, so he can move even faster.

But Jack has limits. He can only dash and block attacks for a certain amount of time, which is shown by a stamina bar. His main weapon is a sword, but he also has special abilities. For example, he can throw stars called “Shuriken” that give enemies a shock or hit switches from far away.

The game is tricky because Jack and his enemies can only take one hit before going down. In the game, Jack has to leave the Dharma Tower to fight a group of cyber ninja AI cults. There are parts where he even rides a motorcycle to fight enemies and avoid obstacles.

The levels are more open, so you can choose your own way before facing enemies. As you go further, you can buy upgrades to make Jack even stronger, but the motorcycle can’t be improved. The game is all about quick, intense action and smart thinking.
