James Tupper has asserted that Anne Heche gave jurisdiction over her inheritance to him and not to her eldest son, Homer Laffoon. According to court papers obtained by Page Six, Heche sent a copy of her will to Tupper and two others in January 2011. Tupper further argued that Laffoon would not be able to manage his mother’s inheritance because he was only 20 years old, unemployed, and estranged from Heche at the time of her death.
