Hogwarts Legacy Game Info

Hogwarts Legacy is an action role-playing game set in the late 1800s and developed by Avalanche Software. Published by Warner Bros. Games under the Portkey Games label, the game is part of the Wizarding World franchise, taking place a century before the events of the Harry Potter novels. Players assume the role of a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where they learn and master various magical abilities and objects. Guided by fellow students and professors, the protagonist embarks on a quest to uncover an ancient secret hidden within the wizarding world.

Hogwarts Legacy is a significant release for Avalanche Software following its acquisition by Warner Bros. in 2017. The game’s development began in 2018 and leaked pre-release gameplay footage surfaced online that same year. The storyline was carefully crafted to unfold in a period separate from the established characters of the Wizarding World, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in a unique universe. While Avalanche Software has put its own spin on Hogwarts, they have ensured that the game retains a sense of familiarity and recognition for fans.

How to Complete Minding Your Own Business Hogwarts Legacy?

To start the “Minding Your Own Business” side quest in Hogwarts Legacy, players need to speak with Penny and then find Cassandra Mason, the owner of the vacant store in Hogsmeade. Cassandra can be found outside her home nearby. She agrees to sell the store to the players for 1,500 Galleons. After paying the amount, players return to the store and use Reparo to fix it. However, before opening the store, they must unlock a mysterious chest mentioned by Cassandra.

The quest continues by exploring the underground area below the store. Players descend a ladder and keep exploring until they reach a chest. Opening the chest causes darkness, and players need to cast Lumos to illuminate the area. They should look around until they spot a door. Further exploration leads to a room with mannequins. Interacting with the jack-in-the-box in the corner changes the room. Players then move forward and encounter a floating lantern on their right. They need to use Accio or Wingardium Leviosa to bring the lantern and place it on a hand-shaped hook, unlocking a nearby door.

After entering the door, players reach the foyer. They need to explore two areas branching off from either side to unlock the main door ahead. The order in which they tackle these areas doesn’t matter, but both areas must be fully explored. The left path leads to the Library, while the right path leads to the Atrium. Each area has multiple sections that can be explored in any order.

In the Library, players must retrieve two lanterns and place them on hooks on either side of the wooden doors. If they head left, they pass a large statue and eventually come to an area with a balcony. This opens a new path where they need to use Accio or Wingardium Leviosa to summon a lantern from above and place it on a nearby hook. This action causes the room to spin. They climb through a window, drop down to the area below, and follow the path to find another lantern. Placing this lantern on a hook allows them to pass through a nearby door. They summon the lantern through a window and place it on a hook at the bottom of the stairs, opening the path to the first of two lanterns needed to unlock the library’s double doors.

In the Atrium, players explore two areas to retrieve lanterns and make progress. Taking the left path leads to what appears to be a stately home. After encountering a thrown couch and reaching a dead end with mannequins blocking the way, players find a boarded-up doorframe. They blast the boards and pass through, moving lanterns from hook to hook to progress. Placing the lantern on the third hook opens another door with a lantern behind it. Placing this lantern on the hook in the middle section opens another door to the right.

In the next area, players defeat waves of mannequins until a door opens. They chase a moving doorway, leading to a dark corridor. By casting Lumos and running from one end to the other multiple times, they open another door containing a chest and the first of the lanterns needed to complete the Atrium section.

After passing through the Atrium doors, players defend themselves against Fastidio, who throws rocks, furniture, and enchanted mannequins. By dodging and using offensive spells, such as Incendio, players defeat Fastidio. They return to the foyer, where one of the metal bars blocking the escape is removed. Players then visit the Atrium’s right path. On the right path, players find a room with a lantern and a hook. Placing the lantern on the hook rearranges the room, allowing them to progress to a new area. They encounter a large chessboard.

Explore the Foyer

Upon entering the foyer, players will need to explore the two areas branching off from either side to unlock the main door in front of them. The order in which players tackle these areas doesn’t matter, but both areas must be fully explored to complete the quest and return to the wizarding world above. To the left is the Library, and to the right is the Atrium. Each area has two sections that can be tackled in any order.

Explore the Library (Left Path)

To complete the library section, players must retrieve two lanterns and place them on the hooks on either side of the wooden doors. Heading left from the entrance, players will pass a large statue and eventually reach an area with a balcony. This opens up a new path where they’ll need to use Accio or Wingardium Leviosa to summon a lantern from above and place it on a nearby hook, causing the room to spin.

They’ll then need to climb through the window, drop down into the area below, and follow the path until they reach another lantern. Placing this lantern on the hook allows them to pass through the nearby door. From there, they should summon the lantern through the window and place it on the hook at the bottom of the stairs. This opens up the path to the first of the two lanterns needed to unlock the library’s double doors.

Explore the Library (Right Path)

After placing the first lantern, players should take the right path and go down the stairs to their left, past the golden statue. This leads them to a room with three doors, with the middle door being the one they need to go through first. Inside, they’ll find a ladder, but climbing it will take them back to the room with the three doors.

Next, players should take the door on the left and keep running around the endless corridor until Fastidio mentions something about running in circles. At that point, they’ll be able to turn around and head through the door to progress. After a few jump scares, they’ll find themselves back in the room with the three doors surrounded by mannequins. From there, they can take the last remaining door on the right.

This final door leads to a room with another jack-in-the-box that players need to interact with. Afterward, they should run around the area, defeating any mannequins that come to life. Once all the living mannequins are dealt with, players can find an open door through which they’ll discover the second lantern needed to open the library’s double doors.

Entertain Fastidio

In this next area, Fastidio will attack players with rocks and pieces of furniture. By keeping moving, players can easily dodge all of his attacks. After a minute or two, Fastidio will give up and disappear. Players can then return to the foyer, where the first of the two metal bars blocking their escape will be removed. Now, it’s time to visit the Atrium, accessible via the path on the right.

Explore the Atrium (Left Path)

The Atrium is similar to the Library, requiring players to explore two areas to retrieve lanterns and progress. Taking the left path leads players to what appears to be a stately home. After having a couch thrown at them, they’ll reach a dead end with a single mannequin standing in it. Turning around will reveal the path blocked by more mannequins.

By turning around once more, players will find a boarded-up doorframe. They can pass through it after blasting the boards with any offensive spell. In the next area, players simply need to move a lantern from hook to hook. Placing the lantern on the third

hook will unlock the path to the first lantern needed to open the Atrium’s double doors.

Explore the Atrium (Right Path)

After placing the first lantern, players should take the right path and enter the greenhouse area. Inside, they’ll find themselves in a maze-like structure with hedges blocking their way. By using spells like Incendio, players can burn down the hedges and create paths to navigate through.

As they progress through the maze, players will encounter hostile plants that they’ll need to defeat using offensive spells. It’s important to explore all corners of the maze to find hidden areas and collectibles. Eventually, they’ll reach the second lantern required to open the Atrium’s double doors.

Reunite with Fastidio

Once both lanterns are in place, players will need to return to the foyer and find Fastidio. He can be found in the middle of the area, where he will initiate a chase sequence. Players must follow Fastidio through the twisting corridors while avoiding obstacles and traps. It’s essential to keep up the pace and not fall behind, as getting caught by Fastidio will result in restarting the chase. After successfully completing the chase sequence, Fastidio will finally give up and vanish. The second metal bar blocking the exit will be removed, allowing players to return to the wizarding world above.

After positioning the first lantern in the Atrium, players should proceed along the right path, leading them to a chamber featuring a lantern and a hook. By placing the lantern on the hook, the room will undergo a transformation, granting access to a different area through an open door. In this newly revealed space, players will encounter a sizable chess board, where specific squares crumble when stepped upon.

To navigate safely, players can strategize by analyzing the positions of the chess pieces or simply avoid the cracked squares, easily identifiable by their glowing red appearance when examined using Revelio.

Hogwarts Legacy Gameplay

Hogwarts Legacy is an action role-playing game set in the world of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Players experience the game from a third-person perspective and have the ability to customize their character’s appearance, gender, voice, and body type. They can also choose one of the four Hogwarts Houses.

Throughout the game, players’ characters learn and master spells, potions, and combat techniques, developing their own unique combat style. By completing in-game challenges, players earn experience points to level up and unlock new spells, talents, and abilities. These challenges encompass combat, quests, and exploration.

In addition to character development, players can form friendships with other non-playable characters (NPCs) within the game. These friendships evolve over time, and schoolmates can become companions, joining players on their journey, expanding their abilities, and offering unique quests that delve into their individual stories.

Each Hogwarts House has its own exclusive common room, accessible only to players belonging to that particular House. Alongside the House choice, players receive different exclusive quests. While house points play a role in the game’s plot, they are not influenced by player actions.

The game allows players to explore iconic locations such as Hogsmeade, the Forbidden Forest, and the Room of Requirement. Hogsmeade offers various establishments like The Three Broomsticks Inn and Zonko’s, while the Room of Requirement allows players to customize and modify its environment as they progress. The room serves as a space to manage utility items and magical beasts.

Players can interact with and care for magical creatures like hippogriffs, thestrals, dragons, unicorns, kneazles, and puffskeins. The game features open-world gameplay, granting players the freedom to explore and engage in various activities and encounters. They can search for treasure chests to obtain gear and use the Revelio spell to uncover secrets.

To traverse the map, players can utilize options such as Floo Powder for fast travel or flying on a broomstick after participating in flying class. Attending classes is a significant aspect of the game, progressing the story and enhancing gameplay mechanics. The visual aspects of the castle change with the seasons, and the game’s music adapts based on the player character’s location, including unique tracks within each House’s common room.

For players with arachnophobia, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy offer an arachnophobia mode. This mode presents spiders with a more cartoonish appearance, removing their legs and adding rollerskates as a nod to the Harry Potter books.
