Is Haikyuu on Disney Plus?

No, Haikyuu!! is not available on Disney+. While Disney+ offers a wide range of content, including its own original shows and classic animated films, it does not currently include Haikyuu!!, an anime series. Disney+ tends to focus on its own productions and content that aligns with its family-friendly and animated offerings.

Haikyuu!! is a popular sports anime that follows the journey of a high school volleyball team and its members’ growth and challenges. However, this type of anime content doesn’t fit the profile of Disney’s platform, which primarily targets a different demographic.

If you’re looking for an anime series, you might want to explore other streaming platforms dedicated to anime or general entertainment that offer a broader selection of animated and live-action content beyond what Disney+ provides.

Where to Watch Haikyuu?

As of January 2023, the anime “Haikyuu!!” can be exclusively streamed on the Crunchyroll platform. Crunchyroll offers the complete series with a range of subtitle options, delivering episodes concurrently with their release in Japan through simulcasting. The streaming service has transitioned to a fully paid subscription model; however, it permits viewers to enjoy the initial three episodes of “Haikyuu!!” without charge before necessitating a subscription.

Unfortunately, the series is not currently available on any other streaming platforms, unless within specific geographical regions. While the possibility of changes in accessibility exists in the future, at present, Crunchyroll stands as the sole online destination for experiencing the world of “Haikyuu!!.”

Haikyuu

Haikyu!! is a popular Japanese manga series crafted by Haruichi Furudate, revolving around the world of volleyball. Serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from February 2012 to July 2020, the series spans 45 tankōbon volumes. The narrative charts the journey of Shoyo Hinata, an aspiring volleyball player determined to excel despite his diminutive stature.

The manga’s success led to an anime adaptation produced by Production I.G. The anime premiered on MBS, airing its initial season from April to September 2014 with 25 episodes, followed by a second season from October 2015 to March 2016, and a third from October to December 2016. The series culminated with a fourth season, released in two parts from January to December 2020, totaling 25 episodes. The announcement of the anime film series, “Haikyu!! Final,” marked the series’ conclusion.

Viz Media holds the North American license for the manga, while Sentai Filmworks manages the digital and home release licenses for the anime. Renowned for its positive reception, Haikyu!! secured the Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2016. As of August 2022, the manga’s circulation had exceeded 55 million copies, solidifying its position among the best-selling manga series.

Haikyuu Plot

Shoyo Hinata, a junior high school student, becomes captivated by volleyball when he witnesses Karasuno High School’s Nationals match on TV. Despite his own height disadvantage, he draws inspiration from the renowned “Little Giant,” a compact yet skilled wing spiker on the Karasuno team. With natural athleticism and a remarkable vertical leap, Hinata joins his school’s volleyball club, but to his dismay, he’s the sole member. Over the next two years, he relentlessly persuaded fellow students to join him in practice.

During his final year in junior high, some friends finally join Hinata’s club, leading them to enter a tournament. Their inaugural game against the favored team, featuring the prodigious setter Tobio Kageyama, ends in defeat. Kageyama, dubbed the “King of the Court,” leaves a strong impression on Hinata. Fueled by rivalry, Hinata vows to surpass Kageyama in high school.

Accepted into Karasuno, the high school of the “Little Giant,” Hinata is astonished to find Kageyama there too. Despite Karasuno’s waning reputation, the duo blends Kageyama’s genius setting with Hinata’s athleticism, birthing an explosive new strategy. Their synergy not only aids their personal growth but initiates Karasuno’s quest for redemption, aiming to regain their former glory and reach the Nationals.

Hinata and Kageyama’s aspirations for professional volleyball intertwine. They pledge to reunite on the court after graduating, nurturing an unbreakable connection while propelling each other’s progress. Their unwavering dedication to each other and the sport underscores their profound bond and commitment to the game.
