Myasthenia gravis: Causes, Symptoms, and Prevention

Myasthenia gravis (MG) causes muscle weakness and fatigue that the patient has no control over. Disruption in normal communication between nerves and muscles can lead to MG. MG is more common in women under 40 and men over 60. Muscle weakness, drooping eyelids, double or double vision, difficulty speaking, difficulty swallowing and chewing, and changes in facial expressions are all common symptoms. According to experts, children are sometimes born with an uncommon type of myasthenia gravis known as congenital myasthenia gravis. Myasthenia gravis, thymus tumors, underactive or overactive thyroid, and autoimmune diseases can all result from this disease. There is no permanent treatment for myasthenia gravis.
