Jodie Turner-Smith has apparently joined the cast of Sex Education season 4. Her credits include The Last Ship (2017), Nightflyers (2018), and Anne Boleyn (2021), among the others. The news comes as many stars say their final goodbyes to the show. Both Emma Mackey and Ncuti Trade in goods, who play Maeve Wiley and Eric, have confirmed their departure from Sex Education after season 4.
Many actors left Laurie Nunn’s TV show before the fourth season began production. This includes Olivia, Ola, Lily and Emily Sands, played by Simone Ashley, Patricia Allison, Tanya Reynolds and Rakhee Thakkar. Smith’s inclusion of Turner comes as good news for fans amid the upheaval of the show’s cast. Although neither the streaming site nor the show’s creators acknowledged the news, the star hinted at her role on the show during the 2017 BAFTA Film Awards.

The actress revealed insights into her role on the hit show while attending the BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday, February 19, 2023, in London.
According to Jodie Turner-Smith:
“You can see me on a Netflix show called Sex Education.”
When asked how it went, she said that Ncuti Gatwa was the driving force behind the decision. Without revealing much about her character, the actress said that she will be bound to Gatwa’s Eric.

According to Variety, the 36-year-old British actor added:
“First and foremost, all my moments are with Ncuti Gatwa, who I DIE for and who is my favorite character on the show… So when he called and asked me to doing that, I told him, “I don’t care how. How much they pay, I’m doing it.”
According to reports, her character will be Eric’s cousin and will be stationed in the UK, Nigeria or Ghana. Turner-Smith isn’t the only newcomer to the cast. Among the newcomers are:
Dan Levy (Schitt’s Creek), Thaddea Graham (curfew, Us), Marie Reuther (Kamikaze), Felix MuftiAnthony Lexa, Alexandra James, Imani Yahshua.

According to many sources, season 4 of the Netflix show has closed and is nearing completion. The streamer has yet to announce a release date, but the fourth installment will most likely premiere in mid-2023.
