Kasie Hunt began her journalism career in January 2005 as an intern in the politics department of the Washington DC Metro Area of NBC News. She worked with NBC for five years until leaving in May 2005. She began working with the Associated Press as a News Assistant in May 2006 and stayed for a year and a month before left in May 2007. From July 2008 to February 2010, she worked as a health policy reporter for the National Journal’s CongressDaily, covering the passage of the Affordable Care Act perhaps.
She then joined Politico in January 2010, covering the Republican nomination races in Iowa and New Hampshire as well as the 2010 midterm elections, until leaving in August 2011 Hunt began working as a national political reporter for the Associated Press in August 2011 and continued until January 2013.
