Kevin Conroy Passed Away At The Age Of 66

Kevin Conroy, actor, died on November 10, 2022, at the age of 66. He is most recognized for his role as the voice of Batman in many shows and animated films. Diane Pershing, a voice actor, announced the news on social media. She speaks,

“We have terrible news: our beloved Batman voice actor, Kevin Conroy, passed away yesterday.” He was ill for a long time, but he spent a lot of time on conferences, keeping all his followers satisfied. He will be deeply saddened not only by the characters in the film but also by his countless fans around the world.”

Pershing continued,

Kevin Conroy’s acting career began in theatre.

Conroy, born November 30, 1955, received a scholarship to the Juilliard School’s drama department in 1973 and graduated in 1978. He later performed with John Houseman’s acting company, The Acting Company, on tour. National tour of Ira Levin’s play Deathtrap.

Kevin then moved to California in 1980 and starred in a recurring part on the daytime television series Another World. He later appeared in plays such as Hamlet as well as other classical and modern theatrical performances. In 1985, he returned to television with Covenant, a television series, and starred in shows such as Dynasty, Ohara, Tour of Duty, Cheers, Search for Tomorrow, Matlock, and others.

He became known for his role as the voice of Batman in the 1992 television series Batman: The Animated Series. Conroy went on to play the DC superhero in subsequent episodes and movies, including The New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, and Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero. He helped with relief operations after the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York City by cooking for police officers and firefighters. In March 2014, he returned to the Arkham series as Batman in Batman: Arkham Knight.

Kevin also appeared in Tim Daly’s online series, where he played Batman in a battle with Daly playing Superman. He then appeared in an episode of Batwoman as Bruce Wayne from Earth-99. Conroy, who is openly homosexual, authored the critically acclaimed novel Finding Batman earlier this year, which describes his life and experiences as a gay man. The story appears in DC Comics’ annual LGBTQIA+ themed anthology. Conroy is survived by his wife, Vaughn C. Williams, as well as his sister Trisha Conroy and brother Tom Conroy.
