Kirstie Alley Passed Away At The Age Of 71

Kirstie Alley, Summer School actress has died at the age of 71. The Emmy Award-winning actress is battling cancer. Her faith in Scientology resurfaced online after her death. On Monday, the family of the Look Who’s Talking actress released a statement. It says:

“We are deeply saddened to inform you that our beautiful, strong and beloved mother has passed away after a short battle with cancer.” She was surrounded by her closest people and fought bravely, leaving us with the assurance that her endless joy of living and whatever experiences lie ahead.”

True and Lillie Parker, her children, made the announcement. Kirstie Alley rose to prominence in 1987 as Rebecca Howe in the sixth season of Cheers. In 1991, she won a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award for her performance. Since then, she has worked on various projects, including Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Summer School and Village of the Damned.

Kirstie Lane belongs to the Church of Scientology. The actress vehemently supports religion.

The Wichita, Kansas native, dropped out of college and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in interior design. She also wanted to continue her budding relationship with Scientology at the time. This came after her battle with drug abuse in 1979. She went on to praise Scientology and its Narconon treatment program for helping her overcome her cocaine addiction.
