Tragedy strikes when friends die, including Éponine, who sacrifices herself for Marius. Javert, conflicted with Valjean’s mercy, takes his own life.
Valjean, fearing the influence of the past, prepares to leave but does not have time to reveal the truth to Marius. At Marius and Cosette’s wedding, Valjean passes away peacefully, joining his loved ones in the afterlife.
