What is Marvel Snap?

Gear up for a fun, free-to-play collectible card game (CCG) developed by the talented minds at Second Dinner and published by Nuverse. Immerse yourself in a universe filled with an eclectic collection of characters from the Marvel Universe. Prepare for intense head-to-head battles as you build a deck of 12 cards, each with its own mana cost of 1 to 6.

These cards possess a unique power level, but what’s interesting is that they don’t engage in direct combat with each other. Your mana increases with each pass, starting at 1 on turn one and gradually increasing to a maximum of 6 on turn six. Target? Guaranteed victory by winning in two of the three hot spots.

Locations open simultaneously, where the player with the most power in one location wins. If both players possess an equal amount of power, a dramatic draw will ensue, adding an extra layer of suspense to the game. Marvel Snap awaits your arrival, eager to test your strategic prowess and take you on an action-packed journey through the Marvel Universe.

Collect your cards, summon your inner hero and prepare to be captivated by the dynamic battles ahead. It’s time to unleash your power and conquer the realms of Marvel Snap!

Marvel Snap Weekly Balance Update

This has been a light week compared to the excitement of recent patches. The April Supergame has a wide variety of super games with healthy win rates and block gains and only a few minor common exceptions. We’ll have more news for you soon about the future of our OTA balance patches, but today it’s mostly just a few card remakes.

Kitty Pryde CARD UPDATE – Launched with a new design!

[Old] 1/0 – You can return it to your hand for +2 Strength.
[New] 1/0 – When this returns to your hand, +2 Strength. Returns at the start of each turn. As we previously announced, Kitty Pryde is returning to the game this week with her new ability. She will be Series 5 and awarded to all active accounts today.

Crystal

[Old] 4/4 – Reveal: If this is the middle position, shuffle your cards into your deck and draw 3 cards.
[New] 4/4 – On Reveal: Each player draws one card. Crystal is one of the few cards with extremely low play and win rates for quite some time, and is clearly a buff candidate. We debated maintaining the direction of the current effect by removing the middle limit, increasing the number of cards drawn, etc. But the hard part is that we don’t want an effect like Crystal’s to be so powerful. . The SNAP deck has only 12 cards, and we don’t want those cards to always play out the same, so we take great care when allowing players to draw. This remake aims to create a simple, consistent, and possibly fun Crystal along with a variety of cards.

Wave

[Old] 3/3 – On Reveal: Next turn, both players’ hands are worth 4.
[New] 3/3 – On Reveal: All cards have a value of 4 until the end of the next turn. Wave cost reduction occurs after other effects that lower the cost of the card. In addition to a text update that clarifies when the Wave effect kicks in, we’ve also made a sizable adjustment “under the hood”. Waves will now start applying after card cost reduction effects, instead of before. That means She-Hulk, Death, etc will always cost 4 when Waves are in effect. We don’t take it for granted that this change will kill a few decks, but Wave has greatly limited our ability to use cost reduction as a bonus synergy in designs in the future. future. Relying on Waves is always better than spending your deck on true synergy–we’ve seen it with Death since both cards work, and we’ll continue to see it without this action.

Death

[Old] 9/12 – It costs less than 1 per card destroyed in this game.
[New] 8/12 – It costs less than 1 for each card destroyed in this game. Since Death’s current performance is largely dependent on Wave and Galactus, we wanted to improve her playability in other decks where the interaction with Wave has changed. This may not be enough, and if we see Death take a big step forward, we’ll come back and see how we can further tweak these values to ensure Death remains a meaningful card. for the dedicated Destroy deck.

White Queen (Change Text Only)

[Old text] 4/6 – On Reveal: Draw a copy of the Highest Cost card in your opponent’s hand.
[New text] 4/6 – On Reveal: Copy the highest Cost card in your opponent’s hand to your hand. This is just a text revision to clear up some ongoing confusion about what exactly the White Queen does and how it interacts with cards like Widow’s Bite. In the future we may pursue setting up some sort of shorthand to copy the card into your hand, but for now we’re just going with the clearest expression of the card’s functionality.
