Mean Girls (2024)

Mean Girls, an upcoming teen musical comedy, directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr. director in their first time directing a feature film. The screenplay was written by Tina Fey, based on the Broadway musical and the 2004 comedy film by Mark Waters. Both were inspired by the book “Queen Bees and Wannabes” by Rosalind Wiseman. The cast includes Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auliʻi Cravalho and Christopher Briney, with Tina Fey and Tim Meadows reprising their roles from the original film.

Announced by Paramount Pictures in January 2020, Tina Fey returned as writer and producer alongside Lorne Michaels, who produced the 2004 film. Development of the film involved reworkings of songs from the stage musical by composer Jeff Richmond and lyricist Nell Benjamin.
