Jayden Maiava’s parents, William and Jerushua Maiava, are native Hawaiians. The couple has eight children, one of whom is the most sought-after college quarterback in the nation. Maiava’s career journey so far

Jayden Maiava began his soccer career in Hawaii, but it was in Las Vegas that he began to gain attention. Sierra Vista High School is where he started his freshman year of high school. In 2019, he returned to Hawaii to play for Kaimuki High School, where he threw for 3,317 yards and 41 touchdowns. Jayden moved back to Las Vegas for his senior year of high school and enrolled at Liberty High School.

He led the team to a state championship, throwing for 2,027 yards and 24 touchdowns. Maiava was named to the league’s first team during his time with Liberty. The teenager revealed his commitment to UNLV in 2021. Because of the coaching staff, the player chose UNLV over Auburn, Louisville and Tennessee. He said the coaching staff and his parents constantly tested him. Marcus Arroyo, the head coach at UNLV, was involved in the recruiting process, calling Maiava and offering him a scholarship. Both sides benefit from this change.
