Shaun White is a former snowboarder and skateboarder from San Diego, California. His parents, Cathy and Roger, gave birth to him there. Shaun comes from a family of three siblings, of which he is the youngest. His mother, Cathy, worked as a waitress, while his father, who had surfing experience, worked at the water department in San Clemente, California. Shaun’s older brother, Jesse White, seven years older than him, played an important part in his life by teaching him how to snowboard. Roger had hoped that Shaun would follow in his footsteps and become a surfer, but Shaun followed his path and eventually had a successful career doing what he loved.

His brother Jesse was the first person to teach him how to skateboard
Jesse White, Shaun White’s older brother, was the first person to introduce him to skateboarding. Shaun followed in his brother’s footsteps and became a very accomplished skier. Despite his love of snowboarding since childhood, Jesse currently works as creative director at Shaun White’s Whitespace. The talented young man is now a married man with two sons.
