Once you’ve identified the right area, bravely venture into the toxic fog. Look for a ledge that you can jump across.
On the other side of the ledge, you will come across the lifeless body of a Technician. Search the Technician’s corpse and acquire their armor set.
After grabbing the Technician’s armor, take a sharp left from the corpse’s location. There, lying on the ground by itself, you’ll find the Alien Device.
Interact with the Alien Device to activate it. Upon doing so, you will successfully unlock the Engineer Archetype.
