Lingo, a new CBS game show, will premiere on January 11.
The popular game show Lingo was present in 17 countries, including France and the United Kingdom. The series will return to American television screens for the fourth time, with two teams trying to identify 5-letter words to win a significant amount of money. In an earlier version of the game, competitors were given the first letter of the word and had to guess the entire word. The board lights will turn red if the letter is correctly guessed and yellow if the alphabet is in the word but is placed incorrectly. If the alphabet is not in the word, no lights will be on.
Competitors must guess the right word within a certain amount of time, otherwise a point will be awarded to the opposite side. Objective Media Group, Triple Brew Media and RuCo Inc. are producing Lingo. The show is already available in digital formats such as games and Facebook apps. Lingo will premiere on CBS on January 11 at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes of the show will be available on the network’s website and on Paramount+ a day after they air on television.
