Selena Gomez

American singer and actress Selena Gomez has spoken out about her mental health issues and her long battle with lupus. The actress admitted to Rolling Stone Magazine for their cover story that she suffered from a mental disorder in 2018 and ended up in a treatment facility after hearing voices. Soon after, the 30-year-old was diagnosed with bipolar disease, and doctors prescribed her multiple medications to see which would work best for her. However, these drugs had a negative effect on her.

When asked about the drug’s side effects, Gomez said she felt like she was gone and that there was no part of her that “was there anymore”. Luckily, Selena Gomez managed to find a doctor who assessed her prescription and advised her to take only two pills, which made her feel better. The Another Cinderella Story actress said she had to “deto” the drug and learn to recall sentences she would forget when she said it. She went on to say that accepting her bipolar disorder and learning how to cope with it is difficult because “it won’t go away.”
