Shakira, a Colombian musician, has released a new song featuring Ozuna, a Puerto Rican vocalist. The song is called Monotonia, and it seems to be about heartbreak. The Hips singer Don’t Lie previewed the song on social media multiple times, getting fans excited about its debut. The Grammy-winning singer said the song from her 11th studio album will be released on October 19.
Ozuna posted in response to Shakira’s Instagram post:
“A small king with a mighty dynasty.” It translates as “A little king with a splendid queen.”
Last month, the singer admitted her divorce from Spanish player Gerard Pique, and said she was going through the most difficult and dark time in her life. On Instagram, she teased the new lyrics, writing:
“It’s not your fault/It’s not my fault/It’s monotony’s fault,” (“It’s not your fault/It’s not my fault/It’s monotony’s fault.”)

Viewers can witness the human heart being trampled in a short video she posted online. The post’s caption reads:
“I didn’t say anything, but it hurt me.” “I knew it was going to happen.”
Many people think that the caption refers to the player breaking the female singer’s heart. Monotonia’s cover art depicts a knife through a heart.
Shakira claims that her songs are influenced by personal experience.
Monotonia is Shakira’s follow-up to the April song Te Felicito with Rauw Alejandro. The singer praised her ex in Te Felicito as an excellent actor in their relationship. Her ex, Gerard Pique, was accused of cheating on her in the song. The singer said in an interview with Elle that her lyrics are influenced by personal experience.
She stated the following:
“I can only say that everything I feel, everything I go through is reflected in the songs I write, in the videos I produce, whether consciously or unconsciously.” When gloves match, gloves match. Like I said, my music is that channel.”

Shakira, who has been married to Pique for 12 years and has two children with him, told the magazine:
“It was difficult not only for me but also for my children.” Extremely challenging. I try to hide the problem from them as much as possible. This is especially difficult for two children who are still going through their parents’ divorce proceedings. And sometimes I simply feel like I’m having a terrible dream and will wake up at some point.”
She went on to say:
“No matter how things end or how Gerard and I feel about each other as ex-partners, he’s still the father of my children.” We have a mission to do for these two extraordinary boys. And I’m sure we’ll determine what’s best for their future, their own life goals, and what’s a fair solution for everyone involved.”
