During the broadcast of her current show, the TV celebrity celebrated her 59th birthday by transforming. In an interview with People, Sheryl Underwood revealed more about her weight loss journey. She says she started her journey when she weighed between 230 and 250 pounds and her doctor ordered prediabetes and hypertension tests. Sheryl also said that she was scheduled to have bariatric surgery but chose to try Wegovy injections instead. The FDA approved the weekly injection in June 2021 to help control appetite.
Sheryl Underwood has attempted to manage portion sizes and daily behaviors other than injections. In response, she said she plans to have a surgical procedure, but then she will have to “see a psychologist” and a dietitian. She says she lost weight while working with a dietitian.
