Slothrust is an American alternative rock band formed in 2010 in Boston, Massachusetts. The duo consists of Leah Wellbaum (vocals, guitar) and Will Gorin (drums), who began collaborating while studying at Sarah Lawrence College. The band’s name combines “Slothbox”, Wellbaum’s previous project, and “Rust”, symbolizing the passage of time. They gained attention with their debut album “Feels Your Pain” with the lead single “7:30 AM”.
Slothrust continued to thrive with albums like “Of Course You Do” and “Everybody Else,” which explored themes of love and existential anxiety. In 2018, they released “The Pact” and settled on a lineup change in 2021. Despite many challenges, they released “Parallel Timeline” in 2021 and in 2023, marking their 10th year. year with the EP “I Promise” and a tour commemorating their 2014 album.
