A new study conducted by experts at the University of Aberdeen has found that signs of MND can be identified in people about 14 years before symptoms manifest. According to research, a particular protein that causes MND can be identified in the stomach years before it affects the brain and body. In addition, doctors were able to create a gene treatment that could correct a patient’s muscle weakness. Sue Baker died of Motor Neuropathy after a long battle, however, it is unclear when she was initially diagnosed. Her son and daughter Ian and Hannah, her grandchildren George and Tom, and her daughter-in-law Lucy survived her.
