Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is an action-only online role-playing video game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. Serving as a sequel to Tom Clancy’s The Division, the game is set in a near-future depiction of Washington, DC, which has been ravaged by a genetically engineered virus known as “Green Poison”. The player assumes the role of an agent from the Strategic Inland Division, tasked with the important task of rebuilding the city and restoring order.
Released on March 15, 2019, the game is already available on PlayStation 4, Windows and Xbox One platforms. It received mostly positive reviews from critics, who praised the improved setting, engaging gameplay, stunning visuals, tense combat, and engaging soundtrack. However, opinions have been divided on the end game content.
Despite initial expectations that were not fully met at launch, The Division 2 proved to be a commercial success, selling over 10 million copies worldwide. Its success further cemented its place in the gaming community.
How to play Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
The Division 2 is an immersive third-person shooter game played from a third-person perspective. It allows up to four players to team up and embark on missions together. Set in the nation’s capital, Washington, DC, the game takes place seven months after its predecessor, seeing a brutal civil war between survivors and evil looters.
Players begin their journey by creating a unique Division agent, with options to customize the character’s gender and appearance. As agents, players use a variety of firearms, such as assault rifles, sniper rifles, and submachine guns, along with grenades and other explosives to take down their enemies. These weapons are classified into various levels and rarity, with high-quality guns offering better stats and special “talents” to enhance player performance.
Key weapon stats cover 7 areas: Damage, Rounds Per Minute, Magazine Size, Accuracy, Stability, Reload Time, and Damage Reduction. Acquiring high-quality guns can be a challenge, but their advantage in combat makes them worth the effort. Furthermore, players can further personalize their weapons with accessories such as gun scopes, iron sights and barrel attachments, tailoring their arsenal to suit their playstyle.
