The Twang Rock Band
The Twang is an indie rock band from Birmingham, England, formed in 2004. The original lineup included members like Phil Etheridge, Jon Watkin, Stu Hartland, Ash Sheehan, and Matty Clinton on drums. They gained recognition when NME magazine featured them in an article about music acts in the West Midlands. Their debut single, “Wide Awake,” came out in 2007, and their first album, “Love It When I Feel Like This,” reached #3 on the UK charts.
Over the years, The Twang continued to release albums, with “Jewellery Quarter” reaching #20 on the UK album chart and “10:20” placing at #52. The band’s sound evolved, and in 2014, they released “Neon Twang.” The most recent studio album, “If Confronted Just Go Mad” (2019), introduced new backing singers, Cat Mctigue, and Rio Hellyer, and marked the band’s ongoing journey in the indie rock scene.
