When asked about her struggles, Ally said:
“Tom was hospitalized last week after having trouble breathing and is now fighting for his life. He is suffering from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). IPF is a rare lung disease, but it is not uncommon in our family. His father (my grandfather), a veteran US Air Force navigator, passed away from this cancer 8 months ago, in April 2022.”

She also said that her father, Tom, will not be able to work, which is why the family is seeking further help. As of this writing, the GoFundMe campaign has raised over $35,000 from 470 donors. Simultaneously, the reporter has received other accolades in the media, including the 983rd Louisiana State 12AAAA Cross Country Champion title. He is also a nearly three-time Emmy Award winner.
