Each episode of the series focuses on a specific subject matter, such as addiction, relationships, personal struggles, and societal issues. The show’s approach to storytelling is characterized by its candid and unfiltered portrayal of real-life situations.

The inaugural episode, titled “Fatal Dose,” exemplifies the series’ format by centering on the harrowing topic of heroin addiction. The series captures the subjects’ personal stories, struggles, and triumphs, aiming to shed light on the complexities of their experiences.

The show’s unique approach involves a camera crew closely following and documenting the chosen subjects throughout a specific period of their lives. This intimate perspective allows viewers to witness the participants’ day-to-day routines, emotions, challenges, and interactions. By doing so, “True Life” aims to provide a genuine portrayal of the human experience, fostering empathy and understanding among its audience
