Vietnamese Girl Group DREAMeR Is Accused Of Plagiarizing BLACKPINK’s Comeback Teasers

DREAMeR, a new Vietnamese girl group, was accused of stealing BLACKPINK’s BORN PINK idea. On September 14, 2022, a fan on Twitter noticed similarities between DREAMeR’s member introductions and comeback dates and album ideas by singers PINK VENOM. Fans asked YG Entertainment to prosecute them for plagiarism after the post went viral on social media.

The teaser design introducing the two new members’ DREAMeR closely resembles the current concept of the K-pop group. MiiNa and Bo Uyen, the third and fourth members of the debut group, were announced on April 12 and September 14, 2022, respectively. Furthermore, their comeback journey poster resembles the teaser announcing BLACKPINK’s global tour.

Apparently a group called DREAMeR in Vietnam is plagiarizing BLACKPINK, LISA and even they have copied ROSÉ in the past, I think we should email YGE about this. pic.twitter.com/8Ihv9u1Mbu

Fans discovered new Vietnamese girl group blatantly plagiarized BLACKPINK’s BORN PINK concept design

A new Vietnamese girl group is being formed, but they’ve attracted attention for the wrong reasons. Even before their debut, DREAMeR members Ph Phong Anh, RIN9 and MiiNa were caught in a plagiarism scandal. Dreamer Entertainment, the group’s management company, has been criticized by BLINK fans for stealing BLACKPINK’s comeback photos. The weirdness of the makeup, the design, the colors, the poses, the positioning, and the text makes it impossible to be anything more than a straight copy-paste concept.

DREAM

The three images are considered controversial. The first is MiiNa’s introduction, which was posted on April 12. Rose’s On the Ground concept photos are compared with singers. The purple outfits, close-ups, flowers, lighting and poses all look like photos of K-pop idols. On September 13, a second photo, believed to be a copy of their comeback schedule, was shared. The poster announcing BORN PINK’s global tour, with two pink lightning bolts at the top and a pink text on a black snakeskin background, is unsettlingly similar.

The poster for the K-pop girl group includes pink fangs on top and bottom, as well as pink letters on a black-pink gradient background. It was published on August 8. The most recent photo to be reproduced is Bo Uyen’s introductory photo, posted on September 14. The image resembles Lisa’s PINK VENOM concept teaser. The broken glasses, pastel pink outfit, hairstyle, long nails and pose are all reminiscent of BLACKPINK’s teaser.

DREAM

Netizens dug deeper after watching Bo Uyen’s concept teaser and discovered more photos that seem to be lifted directly from the design of vocalist PINK VENOM. The plagiarism controversy has divided fans. Half of the fans thought it was a marketing ploy to reach a larger audience as the images uncanny resembled one of the most popular K-pop girl group ideas. They also advise individuals to block or ignore the issue.

Another section of the fan community used the nauseating emoji to flood the Instagram posts of Vietnamese band members. They also named YG Entertainment and BLACKPINK, demanding legal action from the agencies. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will return with BORN PINK on Friday, September 16, 2022.

Let them admire bp and we all know they never win lol🤭
