Vigilante Season 1 Plot
As a child, Kim Ji-Yong (portrayed by Nam Joo-Hyuk) endured the tragic loss of his mother, who was senselessly beaten to death by a thug on the street. Shockingly, the assailant received a mere 3 and a half years in prison for this heinous act. Now an adult, Kim Ji-Yong observes that his mother’s killer remains unchanged. Driven by a thirst for justice, he takes matters into his own hands and administers a brutal beating to the criminal.
This event triggers a stark duality in Kim Ji-Yong’s life. On weekdays, he embodies the role of a model student at the police university. However, come the weekends, he transforms into a vigilante, delivering retribution to those criminals who received disproportionately lenient sentences and persist in committing unlawful acts. Kim Ji-Yong adopts the alias of “Vigilante” and finds support from Jo Gang-Ok (played by Lee Joon-Hyuk), who greatly admires his mission.
In the meantime, Jo Heon (portrayed by Yoo Ji-Tae), the leader of a police investigation team, embarks on a relentless pursuit of the elusive figure known as Vigilante.
