In her youth, Elisabeth “Elie” Scott struggled with a lack of confidence.
Elisabeth “Elie” Scott, a 31-year-old athlete from Salt Lake City, Utah, is said to have aspired to star in the critically acclaimed reality series Survivor since her graduation days. She was totally captivated by the reality series at the time, as one of her close friends made a connection between her and Michele Fitzgerald. Season 43 Survivor will start with three tribes: Baka (represented in yellow), Vesi (represented in red) and Coco (represented in blue). Elisabeth “Elie” Scott, a contestant, will be a member of the Baka tribe.
In a recent interview with Parade, Scott explained why she’s on the CBS reality competition series:
“I started signing up for Survivor with the intention of only appearing on the show because I was passionate about it. I am a big fan. However, during the audition process, I looked at myself a lot and realized that I still had a lot to prove to myself. I’ve been doubting myself a lot since I was a kid.”
She continued:
“And I guess I wanted to show myself that I could step out of my comfort zone and try something new. Because of my profession and family structure, I have always been in a position to serve others. So this is an opportunity for me to focus on myself and for the first time in my life to put myself first.”
When asked about her favorite moments from previous seasons of the show, she said:
“I have so many great moments from the history of Survivor. I believe what I just said, in which Erik abandoned his idol and the brilliant Black Widow Brigade staged it. Everyone did an excellent job. It was a real team effort, with everyone working together to create this incredible surprise. But I also like weird and interesting events.”
She continued:
“Today I recall one time Billy confessed his love for Candice. [in the Cook Islands]. And it’s annoying just thinking about us sitting here, staring at each other. We weren’t allowed to talk to each other before the game. I imagine how embarrassing it must be. (Laughs.) But it was also a very funny and sweet moment. That came to mind today.
While discussing how her effort would give her a significant advantage in the game, the participant said:
“I believe my career has really prepared me for this match. My job is quite difficult. I deal with veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder. In any session, you never know what to expect. They can all have PTSD, but each person’s experience with it is different. As a result, I have to think quickly on my feet. I have to be able to form close relationships with individuals the first time you meet them.”
