This happens when the razor-sharp blades, just 1/8 inch wide, rotate at an astonishing speed of 60 miles per hour. Davison got too close during the third rotation of the flying camel, and his skate slashed just below Dube’s left eye.

It was a terrible sight to see the left side of her face slashed from her nose to her ear. The skater required approximately 83 stitches to hold his face together. However, she returned to skating after only 10 days. At that time, she had a hideous scar on her face, but she refused to be ashamed of it.
