Lauren Cook, John Cook’s 32-year-old daughter, is an outstanding college volleyball player. Cook had the opportunity to coach his daughter when she transferred from UCLA in 2010 to 2012. Lauren chose to return home after failing to assimilate into LA society, but it wasn’t a terrible choice. Her volleyball prowess shines brightly wherever she goes, whether it’s Lincoln, UCLA or Nebraska.
On the other hand, Lauren decided not to pursue a career as a professional volleyball player. Lauren, the eldest child of the head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team, can be heard on the Huskers Radio Network discussing her favorite sport with her father. Father and son recently reunited for another episode, this time to discuss hiring three-time Olympian Jordan Larson as an assistant coach.

She received numerous honors while at Nebraska and remained with the Huskers. Lauren co-hosts the Kicking Back with the Cooks podcast with her father. Taylor received his second shot his senior year at Lincoln in 2012 after missing the 2011-12 school year due to a stress fracture in his lower back. Taylor told the Lincoln Journal Star in 2012 that he quit baseball due to lower back concerns but still intended to join the golf team the following spring.
