Josh Wilder was one of 18 castrated people competing for a $1 million prize and the title of “Single Survivor.” The 34-year-old podiatrist from Atlanta, Georgia, wanted to join the show to challenge her daring side. In a chat with Parade, he discussed his upcoming season’s performance and opened up about having a genetic disability as a child. He also said his organs are not fully effective due to the condition of his intestines and he shared:
“Kristen Reagle, a cadaver transplant donor, donated a kidney to me when I was 9 years old. She was killed by a drunk driver when she was 15 years old; as if her existence had never begun.

The Survivor season 44 rival says his donor is an active person who loves being outside, so he’s doing this for her as well as his family. Josh started watching the show when it first aired in May 2000 and he watches it with his family every Thursday. He mentioned that he watched almost every season of the CBS show, except for a few seasons that he had to skip due to medical school and college. He hooked up with a winner, Jeremy, and a non-winner, Davie, because Davie was a great socialite and performed admirably in the quests.
In an interview, the cast of the upcoming season of the survival show said that he wants to be seen as positive when it comes to the show, as well as being a provider for his teammates. To finish, Josh wanted to be more sociable and accepting of his competitors, but once there, “all took off their gloves.” He continued:
“I will stab in the back, cheat and do what I need to do to get there. But first, I will play a game that is very sociable, active, and a giver. And then, God willing, once we’re united, I’ll do what I need to do. All bets are off the table.”

The Survivor season 44 opponent has stated that he will not allow his emotions to overwhelm him and will not allow others to toy with his emotions. Josh says he’s seen it on the show before, with players embracing emotions and manipulating them to use them against each other, and he plans to avoid that happening to him.
Furthermore, the candidate believes he must keep an eye on the reward and not let others worry him, as Jonathan did with Maryanne. The premiere of Survivor season 44 will air on CBS on Wednesday, March 1 at 8 p.m. ET.
