Survivor 45
Survivor 45 is a popular American reality TV show where contestants try to outwit, outplay, and outlast each other on a remote island. This season takes place in the beautiful Mamanuca Islands, Fiji. It started airing on September 27, 2023, and is the forty-fifth season of the show.
In Survivor 45, 18 contestants are competing for 26 days. They face challenges, form alliances, and strategize to avoid being voted off the island. This season continues to follow strict safety rules due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with shorter 90-minute episodes to fill in for scripted shows affected by a Writers Guild strike.
The show also welcomes back a previous contestant, Bruce Perreault, who had to leave the game early in the previous season due to medical reasons. It’s an exciting and competitive adventure that tests the contestants’ physical and mental strength as they fight to become the ultimate survivor.

Who Was Eliminated On Survivor 45 Tonight?
In the recent episode of Survivor 45, contestant Janani “J. Maya” Krishnan-Ja was eliminated from the game. She had a tumultuous 13-day journey on the island, marked by distrust from her fellow tribemates. During the pre-merge phase, J. Maya took credit for a vote against another player named Sifu. Despite having an advantage, she chose to keep a much desired sandwich away from a fellow contestant, Austin.
When the tribes merged, her former tribemates turned on her, but there was a momentary calm as they voted out Kaleb. However, Kaleb played a special advantage known as “Shot in the Dark,” which successfully nullified all the votes, resulting in J. Maya’s elimination during a chaotic Tribal Council.

How Does Shot In The Dark Work On Survivor?
The “Shot in the Dark” is a twist introduced in Survivor, a popular reality TV show. Here’s how it works :
Getting the Shot:
- At the beginning of the game, each contestant is given a special item called the “Shot in the Dark.” It looks like a cube, and it’s a one-time use item.
Using the Shot:
- If a contestant feels they might get voted out at Tribal Council and wants to save themselves, they can choose to use their Shot in the Dark. When they decide to use it, they give up their right to vote in that Tribal Council.
Taking the Risk:
- Using the Shot in the Dark comes with a risk. The player has to reach into a bag containing a bunch of scrolls, and most of them say “Not Safe,” which means they won’t be saved. However, one scroll says “Safe,” and if a contestant pulls that, they are safe from being voted out.
The Odds:
- The chance of getting the “Safe” scroll is 1 in 6, which means there’s a 1 out of 6, or roughly 17%, chance of it working.
Revote:
- If a player uses the Shot in the Dark and it works, it can change the game dramatically. In Survivor 45, Kaleb used it successfully, which saved him from being voted out, and the tribe had to vote again. Ultimately, J. Maya was voted out instead.
