In Antarctica, a company finds an alien artifact called the Scarab. Back in Palmera City, Jaime Reyes learns his family might lose their home. He gets a job at Victoria’s mansion but is fired for stopping an argument. Jenny, Victoria’s niece, gives him the Scarab hidden in a burger box. When he touches it, the Scarab merges with him, forming an armored suit.

Jaime finds out the Scarab, named Khaji-Da, is a sentient weapon. With Jenny and help from his uncle, they battle Victoria’s forces. Jaime’s family gets in danger, and he embraces his role as Blue Beetle. He defeats the main threat but spares a foe, Carapax, who rebels against Victoria. The island is destroyed, and Jenny becomes Kord Industries CEO, promising to help Jaime’s family rebuild. In a mid-credits scene, a recording hints at Ted being alive.
