Floor Jansen, the lead singer of Nightwish, has announced that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Jansen revealed in a message to her followers that she was diagnosed with cancer more than two weeks ago and will have surgery to remove the tumor.
The singer wrote about her plight, saying:
“My outlook is excellent. It appears to be a malignant tumor that has not spread. I’m holding my breasts. And hopefully I won’t have cancer after this surgery, as well as local radiotherapy three months later.”
She went on to say that she will “know more after the procedure to see if this favorable outlook is maintained.”
“Cancer is a scary term. Everything you valued in life before this diagnosis disappeared in an instant. Now all I want is to get well again. I want to survive and watch my daughter grow up to be a lady!

Floor Jansen’s fans have flocked to Twitter to show their support for the singer. Some supporters hope she will recover quickly and say she will be back to normal, just like how she recovered from Covid before. The Jansen Floor advises women to have mammograms.
The singer advised the sisters to go for regular health check-ups in her message. Jansen also said that if all goes according to plan, she will be back on the road. She speaks,
“The scariest aspect of this diagnosis was that I believed I was healthy!” I didn’t feel the cancer and I didn’t realize it was there until I had a routine mammogram at the age of 40. Which many countries offer, even for free, to the lucky ones.”

Jansen goes on to say that mammograms are “a lifesaver” and that every guy should encourage the women in his life to get tested.
“Mammograms can save your life!” It’s annoying, and you can’t believe you’re going to have nothing in your chest but GO!” She stated. “And to the men reading this, remind your wives, girlfriends, moms and sisters to get checked out.” Even without the privilege of free mammograms that I have as a Western woman: GO!”
She ended her letter on a positive note, adding,
“If everything goes according to plan, I will be ready for the NIGHTWISH European tour, which starts on November 20th!” And I’m optimistic because my outlook is favorable! I pledge to take care of myself. I will disconnect for a moment to focus on myself.”
