Actress Louise Fletcher died on September 23 at the age of 88 at her home in Montdurausse, France. On behalf of the Fletcher family, agent David Shaul informed Deadline of her death. The cause of death is not revealed, however, David reports that she died in the house she created from a 300 year old farm, surrounded by her family. Fletcher told her family about her house the next day, saying she couldn’t believe she had built something so essential to her health.

Louise Fletcher was born on July 22, 1934, into a family of deaf parents, and her father founded more than 40 churches for the deaf in Alabama.
