Career
Peter Worrell started playing professional ice hockey in 1997 and retired in 2006. Before becoming a professional ice hockey player, he played for Hull Olympiques and was a member of two teams. QMJHL and Memorial Cup winners in 1997. After being drafted by the Florida Panthers in the seventh round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, he turned pro. He’s been in a total of 19 games for the Panthers, amassing 153 PIMs and not counting a single point. Worrell scored his first goal on 8 February 1999 against St. Louis Blues.
He was transferred to the Colorado Avalanche on July 18, 2003. Due to a knee injury, he missed the first 27 games of his career. On December 11, 2003, he made his debut with the Colorado Avalanche. He played around 49 games for Avalanche, scoring three goals and contributing one assist, which is the lowest total score in NHL history.
During the closing of the 2004–05 NHL season, Worrell considered retiring, but ultimately decided to sign with the Los Angeles Rangers. He was appointed head coach of the Florida Atlantic University hockey team on May 18, 2010. He also coaches the varsity ice hockey team at North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek, Florida.
